Dr. Surah Hirsch, D.C.
Dr. Surah grew up in NYC, graduated from S.U.N.Y. @ Buffalo with a B.A. in communicative disorders and sciences and moved to Portland, OR in 1979. She graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in March 1984. She spent a few years of teaching at W.S.C.C. and N.C.N.M. and has also done much volunteer work in her career, most notably as a founding member of the “Outside - In” free chiropractic clinic and treating patients in the one chiropractic clinic in Cuba (La Isla de Juventud). Dr. Surah has done a great deal of post-graduate studies; she holds 2 post-doctoral diplomas; one in orthopedics and the other in sports and exercise rehabilitation. She has also taken several hundred hours of postgraduate education in pediatrics and is currently the treasurer of the ACA Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics. Dr. Surah studied dance from age 4 until recent years, had a singing career of sorts in her earlier days and also dabbled in acting. She continues to enjoy these art forms in her spare time. She also enjoys travel, biking and being a support to family and friends.
